Overview
The Gold Bug 2 is a specialist. Its 71 kHz operating frequency is among the highest on any hobby detector, which makes it extremely sensitive to small, low-conductivity gold that lower-frequency machines pass over.
Three modes cover Normal, Audio Boost for faint signals, and Iron Discrimination to skip ferrous trash. Manual ground balance uses coarse and fine knobs for precise tuning, and the control box can be hip-mounted to take weight off your arm. It weighs 2.9 lb and runs up to 35 hours on two 9V batteries.
